libraw1394-tools software package provides library for direct access to IEEE 1394 bus (aka FireWire), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libraw1394-tools
libraw1394-tools is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libraw1394-tools package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libraw1394-tools *
You will get with libraw1394-tools package name, version, architecture and description in a table
